As a new SeeStar owner (and new to the hobby), I think this would be amazing. I'd really like to leave my SeeStar out at dusk and have a queue of items for it to work through then get notified when it's done. I'm terrified of forgetting about my SeeStar over night, so I'd want notifications to go out and bring it back inside.
This is how I'd see this working:
A new mode beside Stargazing is on the main menu called something like 'Autopilot'. I use the object browser to find items and add them to tonight's queue by selecting the object and a time to start. Then repeat this for all items. Once done, I press a play button and the SeeStar goes about working through the queue. If the weather report shows bad weather during the queue time, it might be good to be alerted about this at this stage. When it starts and finishes each item, I get a notification on my phone. If it can't image or runs into problems, I get notified. When it's done it sends a notification and shuts down (optionally).
