I am a very new owner of the AM5, and have just updated the firmware in both the HC and the mount. I will be using the mount mostly controlled by a PC with ASCOM through the USB cable. In the "ASI Mount" control panel, I found that there is a setting for stopping before or after the meridian by a specified number of degrees. I checked the box and enter a value, but when I tested it, it ignored this feature and continued to track through and beyond the meridian. Perhaps I do not understand this feature. Can someone explain this behavior?
Also, I discovered that you cannot use control through the USB cable when the HC is connected. It appears that the computer cannot connect and activate the driver. Is this correct, and is there anyway around this, since it would be convenient to be able to use the hand controller while standing beside the mount.
