Does the AM5 slew fast enough for continuous satellite tracking? I am looking for a mount to support a portable configuration to receive data from the ISS, POES weather satellites (APT & HRPT) and CubeSats. A satellite pass would require up to 15 minutes on continuous tracking.
Observatory The slew rate of AM5 is 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 20x, 60x, 720x, 1440x. The max rate is 1440x sidereal rate. (6°/s)
Most satellite speeds are 4°/min, AM5 is enough to track.
@Walf@ZWO#58658 I have been using the popular app SkyTrack to track satellite with the AM5. The main issue is that the ASCOM driver takes >150ms to return the mount position per call, and thus made that app freezes in most manual operations. Can the driver be improved as AM5 would be a fantastic platform for satellite tracking with this fix.
we will check the delay problem ,thank you
I just ran into this last night. It seems SkyTrack is still waiting on a response from the ZWO team. Any updates on progress?
tgmorris99 Conveyed to the team and we are looking into it. Thank you for the feedback~
@ASIMount@ZWO#59106 I wrote a test app to verify this issue. It calls the ASCOM driver for the RA and DEC position 1000 times. It took 0.760s for a skywatcher mount, and 465.3s for AM5!
If you have a fix for this, I will be happy to verify it.

kaiyung Thank you for the testing! Will bring your message to the team.
Any additional updates on a planned fix date. I'd be happy to beta test.

You received a response related to the satellite/iss tracking?
One of you tried to track satellites with am5?
Thanks
rootsneves the new firmware fixed the latency issue.
