Timbo There are a great many connection sequences, but there is also a consensus that the newer CGX mounts (and you and I appear to have purchased at similar times!) have a USB chipset that will simply not be recognized. There is a very helpful user of this board who has strong views of the matter and a possible solution, but ZWO technical support seems to have met its Waterloo on this one.
I have seen some discussion on Cloudy Nights that suggests cutting losses and buying an inexpensive laptop to use NINA, PHD, ASCOM, and a few other software packages to obtain more or less what ASIAir was intended to provide. It was a pretty good vision—and it works fairly well for some mounts and setups—but I think they’ll need more serious VC funding and a larger investment platform
to get to where amateur astrophotographers would like them to go. I’m still going to watch this space but I’m not optimistic for a solution in the coming weeks or months.
