How to secure ZWO EAF bracket for Takahashi Scope
How to secure ZWO EAF bracket for Takahashi Scope
HI,
Could you please show me how to secure ZWO EAF bracket for Takahashi Scope? I got the bracket for Takahashi and tried to secure it to FS-60CB focuser. Not sure what are those long bolts for...There also seem no place to bolt the L bracket to the focuser. The manual illustration was not very helpful.
Thanks!
Jun

Hi Jun,
Do you have pictures of your telescope focuser?
Can you send some pictures to show us?

Thanks Katherine!
The focuser of my FS-60CB has the newer blueish color. Please see attached photos. I might be able to remove the "button" in the middle but the bracket seems a bit short. (still wait for tools as the screw is tiny. Might be those used in camera lens.)

I was able to find a tool to unscrew the secure bolt (snake eye? pig noes?) on the FS-60CB focuser. However, the bracket from Tak adapter kit is too short (its edge blocks the screw hole) and the bracket from the original EAF kit is too long (it touches the knob that was not removed on the other end)
I ended up removing the other knob and used the bracket from the original EAF kit. The rest of it worked fine. Still need to test the EAF under the stars.
I don't think the focuser I had is an exception. I had seen many Taks having similar secure bolt and focuser. Honestly I was a bit surprised to have to go through so many hoops to install this EAF. It is clearly stated that FS-60CB is supported by the new Tak adapter kit. It took me a while to get my hands on this extra adapter and I ended up not using it at all. I was wondering how this Tak kit was tested before its design was finalized.
