Hi Sam,

I cannot find a disk image on the SD card with WIN32 Disk Imager. ASIAIR runs fine. When I try and backup the SD card WIN32 Disk Imager finds the drives, but can only read E:. H: and the other drives give an error as unreadable.

Also is there a preferred method of downpowering ASIAIR better then just pulling out the power.

Program runs great.

You will have to download https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

Install and run the program
Insert the SD card came with the ASIAIR
Choose the drive of the SD Card
Create Name the backup file (.img) say on your desktop
Press Read to start backup

You'll notice the backup file of is about 30GB

I tried again to copy SD card image. I downloaded win32 disk imager again. I can only find a disk image on E: drive - KERNEL. When I try and select H: drive I get error. I have Toshiba Satellite C55 running WIndows 10. I attached link of the screen shots. I must be doing something wrong.

seems there is a little difference under win10
you need to back up E driver to your D driver
E(BOOT) is the ASIAIR driver

don't format any other disk

hi phy16250,
Thank you for your feedback and so sorry about troubling you.
As Sam said above, you only need to backup E driver.
The SD card Disk-Partition has a little different in Windows 10 with other version of Windows OS, eg. Windows 7 etc. The details are:
- Windows 10 identified 4 partitions of SD card, but others only one.
- Windows 10 can reach every partition in BACKUP operation which means when you backup SD card, you can select anyone of the four partitions( E F G H drives), but we recommend user to select only E drive.

We will update the ASIAIR Quick Guide and you can get a accurate operation guide there(download from https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/manuals-guides manual page. But now I will give a short copy:
Step 1 Download, install and run Win32 Disk Imager. https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
Step 2 Take out the SD card from ASIAIR and insert it into the SD card reader, then plug the reader into USB port(HUB or on your computer).
Step 3 On the GUI of Win32 Disk Imager, click the Director Icon and choose the right folder path to save the IMG file -- make sure there exists at least 30GB space of your computer disk, then name the IMG file, eg. ASIAIR_Backup_20180810.img.
(You can also input the path and file name in the Input Box under Image File label directly, eg:. D:/ASIAIR_Backup_20180810.img)
Step 4 Under the Device label, click the Drop-down Option and select [E:\].
Step 5 Click the Read button and begin to backup, it will take about 15-20 minutes.

That all, Good luck.

Is there any recommended software tool for backup an image of the SD card if using MacOS ?
Will there be an update later, to run bigger SD cards like 64GB /128GB ...?
Thx a lot, BR Marco
