For sure you must working hard with thermal problem of RPi 4.

But without active cooling, Rpi 4 will have throttle problems with heavy cpu load. You should consider to find other SBC to avoid many problems.

Alain

FYI (I'm sure ZWO engineers are aware of this but for others) Raspberry's work on the Pi 4 has resulted in it running a lot cooler using the last four months of firmware updates. Refer to this link

Also note their comments on the orientation of the board.

Hello sir,
The PRO won't support PoleMaster, but for Polar Alignment, the ASIAIR has been supported the PA with your Main Camera and Main Scope. So I think there is no need to use the PoleMaster.

Hi - I have been imaging very successfully using The Sky X on an odroid xu4, using the ZWO camera plug in for TSX (which is excellent - now incredibly reliable).

I use a python script to control the imaging runs and VNC to connect to the XU4.

I love the idea of a the ASIAir Pro with he power outlets though.

Is it possible to load Python and The Sky X onto the Air Pro?

Thank you,

Colin

Hello Cloin, the ASIAIR PRO is a closed-source system, so no APIs for your query yet.
BTW, could you please tell me what does the TSX stand for? Thank you.

Sorry - TSX is The Sky X.

I don’t really need an API for the ASIAir Pro - just a way of loading more software (it’s a Pi 4 at the heart of the box). Could I , for example, load a completely different operating system onto the SD card and use that?

Hello Colin,
Yes, you can, try another new SD card for that. The ASIAIR OS can't load other software.
