Re: ASIAIR Facebook user group

Lets not rush to any hasty conclusion yet -- we don't know what caused the lockout. I have sent an email to Mr. Wen. We'll see if anything results from it. Sam is probably up to his eyeballs with the logistics of bringing the company back to work, so Forums may be quite low priority right now. In th...

Re: ASIAIR Facebook user group

Hi galactique, I agree completely with you. I too will never sign up for a Facebook account. The lockout problem might not be a policy of Facebook, since I can still access the StellarMate Facebook page, and also pages for William Optics and RainbowAstro. The lockup problem might have been instigate...

Re: ASIAIR Facebook user group

Spoke too soon.

It looks like you can no longer access the ASI Facebook pages without a Facebook account.

ASIAIR STN Mode with mesh network

I had earlier reported that ASIAIR v1.4 (original ASIAIR hardware) would not connect to my home mesh network (eero brand). I am glad to report that the ASIAIR 1.4.1(9) Beta with Firmware 4.66 (on iOS TestFlight) now works on my mesh network in Station Mode (STN) without any intervening WiFi extender...

Re: Así air fotography

All CMOS sensors (and CCD sensors in DSLR cameras except for the Foveon) start out as monochromatic sensors. The sensors that are sold as color sensors have a layer of per-pixel color filter arrays, usually laid out in a Bayer pattern (invented at Kodak by Bruce Bayer). In general, the Bayer array i...

Re: 2.x firmware

To use the 2.xx firmware, you will need to run ASIAIR app version 1.2. App version 1.2 will update the firmware to v2.61, if the ASIAIR hardware is not already using v2.61. From my record of the firmware updates I have been archiving, the firmware vs released app versions seems to be Firmware 2.61 A...

Re: Some guide issues

Hi Giuseppe, I am assuming that your glide graphs look OK? If so, your guide scope could be shifting relatively to the main OTA during the exposures. Check to make sure that the guide scope is mounted securely and solidly to the OTA. If you are using an OAG, make sure the guide camera is secure to t...

Connecting ASIAIR to Home (Mesh) Network

I had earlier reported on not being able to connect ASIAIR (1.4) to my (eero) Mesh Network in Station Mode (STN), and only succeeded when I added a WiFi extender that uses a simple SSID. I see that the Facebook crowd are complaining about other mesh routers also failing to connect in Station Mode, s...

Re: ASIAIR 1.4 Wired Ethernet

Oh yeah, if the signal strength is poor enough, you may even want to switch the extender to using 2.4 GHz. Looks like you already have multiple ways to connect to the home network -- unlike the woes that you read on the ASIAIR Facebook page :-). Have fun. Between clouds, rain and snow, no astrophoto...

Re: ASIAIR erratic telescope control

Hi Peter, One extra sanity check that you can do (even indoors) is to set the ASIAIR GOTO coordinates to a degree or so West of the Meridian (the RA of the Meridian should correspond to the local sidereal time, by definition :-). Perform a GOTO on ASIAIR. Next, set a location a degree or so East of ...
