Re: Object database coordinates not accurate

Hi Andrej, Out of curiosity, I pulled out my seldom used Samsung Galaxy Tab, and installed the Android ASIAIR 1.2 beta from pyger.com. Connected ASIAIR (v1.2 build 32) to my mount in the Telescope Settings window and chose NGC4038 as the Target object, and I see RA = 12h 02m 37s DEC = -18º 51' 51" S...

Re: Lost plate solving with update

Sorry Chris, I mistook your original "update" statement to mean you have updated from v1.1 to v1.2 Beta. I didn't realize that you are updating from v1.04 (I *think* that was the one before 1.1) to v1.1. Problem is that, from reading the web forums, except for people with FOVs smaller than 0.4º (mos...

Re: Lost plate solving with update

Bizarre, Chris. That focal length should give FOV that is well within the limits of ASIAIR (0.4º to 33º, according to the manual) with *any* of your cameras. Have you tried removing the Beta app completely and then download 1.1 again from the Apple App Store to see if it still works? You may also ne...

Re: Object database coordinates not accurate

Hi astrosatch, That is really odd. On my iPad (iOS 12.3.1) running ASIAIR Beta 6, I am getting this for NGC 4038 (I am just testing, not a ZWO employee). RA 12h 2m 52s (12h 2.8667m) and DEC -18º 58' 23" (-18º 58.38'). The DEC is *substantially* different from the DEC that you see (-18º 51.85'). For ...

Re: Lost plate solving with update

Hi Chris, I am currently running v1.2 Beta 6 (firmware 2.60) on an iPad. I just tried using an image of the polar region that is displayed on a laptop which is placed about 25 feet away from a 71mm Borg telescope with a ASI178MM camera. (It is daytime here in Oregon, and it is fully overcast, anyway...

Minimum Move (MnMo) in Guide Settings

ZWO: is it possible to add the Minimum Move (MnMo) parameter of PHD2 to the ASIAIR Guide Settings window? For mounts with very slow periodic error, such as the Avalon M-zero, and also strain wave gear mounts like the RainbowAstro and Hobym mounts, better guiding can be obtained by using a smaller Mn...

There was no bounce message from Comcast, so I thought it had gotten through. Please tell me if it works this time. If not, I ca...

Re: Firmware update failure

Hi Philippe, >> Now I have a set of 4 SD cards 2.58 ready. Should be (hopefully) enough! Yes, I agree that four working cards should be more than adequate. In all these months of using two separate (one is mostly on standby) ASIAIR, I have yet to corrupt a single SD card. I use the soft shutdown rel...
