Re: Eastern Veil NGC6992 and NGC6995

Good eyes :-). As I mentioned in the original post, "Dark, no flats." This was a quick test of the Radian filter over a couple of nights at my Bortle 5/Bortle 6 home. The Borg 71FL has lots of dropoff towards the edges when using the 0.72x reducer/flattener (f/4). It is much better with the 1.08x fl...

Re: android 9 not found ASIair

Hello Tamachi san, The ASIAIR defaults to using 5 GHz WiFi. If your smart phone only has 2.4 GHz capability, you will need to first switch the ASIAIR to use 2.4 GHz instead of 5 GHz using a phone that has 5 GHz capability. There is a WiFi Icon on the top left of the ASIAIR home window. That takes yo...

Re: Connect to mount via WiFi?

Hi Peter, Ah, I understand now. Page 43 in this document has an arcane way to determine the last two hex fields of the IP address from the serial number of the controller for use in firmware downloads: https://nimax-img.de/Produktdownloads/59960_1_Anleitung-EN.pdf (Pretty much SN/256 and SN mod 256,...

Re: Connect to mount via WiFi?

Hi Peter, I think that perhaps what Lancer meant by master mode is that at present ASIAIR can only set itself up as the Access Point of a network. As such, ASIAIR will have an SSID, the familiar ASIAIR_xxxxxxxx string, unless you have changed it yourself. The hex digits following "ASIAIR" come from ...

Re: Warning! RainbowAstro RST-135 users (ASIAIR v1.3 Beta)

Polar Alignment works fabulously with v1.3 Bet , as before.

Even though the release notes on iOS TestFlight for ASIAIR v1.3(2) mentioned planetary data, I could not find a GUI to it in the Beta app itself.

Re: Warning! RainbowAstro RST-135 users (ASIAIR v1.3 Beta)

Skies are suffiently clear to do some guiding tests with ASIAIR v1.3 Beta (Firmware 3.16) using a 9.7" iPad Pro running iOS 12.4. In spite of the hijacking of the "Speed 2" mount speed in the Hubo-i hand controller, auto guiding does work (hallelujah!), so this is an improvement over the release ver...

Re: ASIAIR GUIDE RATE

Hi Peter, >> Interesting mount that you have by the way, how do you like it? The RainbowAstro RST-135 has a few flaws. One is the wimpy altitude bolt (I constructed my own leg leveler for the North leg of the tripod to achieve polar alignment), and the fact that not being a worm gear, gravity and th...

Warning! RainbowAstro RST-135 users (ASIAIR v1.3 Beta)

If you are currently running ASIAIR v1.2 (Firmware 2.61) on iOS, do not download the TextFlight v1.3 Beta (Firmware 3.16). It has the same bug as ASIAIR v1.2.1 (Firmware v2.64). The v3.16 firmware is changing the "Speed 2" mount speed in the hand controller, and in the Home window, the mount speeds ...

Re: ASIAIR GUIDE RATE

Hi Pogo, To use ST-4 for guiding, you need to set the mount to "On Camera ST4" in ASIAIR in the Mount Menu.. That, unfortunately, will not allow you to do any GOTO (from Telescope Setup window or after a plate solve) or perform slewing (from Home window). So, while ST-4 will make Guiding work (the m...
