Re: Fire capture 2.6 for Mac settings for asi1600mc-cooled

Chad, thank you again for your great support. My powered USB 3.0hub is a high quality one. I have three items connected to it: 1. ZWO guide camera (asi185mc) 2. ZWO imaging camera (asi1600mc-c) 3. Optec TCF-Si focuser via serial to USB 2.0 adapter cable. The cable(s) connecting the hub to the Mac Mi...

Drivers for the new ALPACA platform

To the ZWO software team, here is my question. Are you working on camera (and filter wheel) drivers for the new platform (ALPACA) that will replace ASCOM? According to tech support at my focuser company (Optec), that platform should be ready this year. Here is a link to the ASCOM/ALPACA webpage. htt...

Re: Fire capture 2.6 for Mac settings for asi1600mc-cooled

Chad, thank you again for the info. I did some testing and the "VNG" debayer method worked the best for my setup. Also, the banding issue is no longer showing. All is well. I do want to verify a different camera use (connection). The camera setup document mentions to NOT use a powered USB 3.0 hub. I...

Re: asi1600mc-c can the FPGA code be upgraded via a Mac

Hello again Chad. I need to see what firmware version the camera has, because it is producing the vertical banding issue as seen on older posts here. Updating the firmware seemed to correct that problem. The link you gave me leads to a Windows only utility. Can the firmware version be checked using ...

Re: Fire capture 2.6 for Mac settings for asi1600mc-cooled

Chad, thank you for that info.
I also need to know which debayer method (algorithm) should be used, such as bilinear, nearest neighbor etc.?

Fire capture 2.6 for Mac settings for asi1600mc-cooled

Hi again. For this camera, using Firecapture for DSO imaging, what are the settings for debayer? I need to ensure I have all the correct setting to get the best color for both the preview and saved images. I will be using the camera settings for 16 bits, Tiff output and RGB, for the OSC (no filters)...

asi1600mc-c can the FPGA code be upgraded via a Mac

Hello. I have the version with the guide and USB 3.o ports, as well as the cooler. I don'y know which firmware version it has. I have the banding issue and wonder if the FPGA firmware code can be upgraded via a mac, using the Mac screen sharing feature? If not, I do have a Windows 10 laptop, but nee...

oaCapture input options for asi185mc and 1600mc-cooled

Hello. I tried to post this last night, but somehow it did not get posted. With both of these cameras, and capturing DSO images (in color) the options I get are: 1. RGB24 2. RGGB12 these are the sensor input options, not the demaosaic/debayer options. Which one would give the best color output in TI...

asi185mc and 1600mc-cooled input frame options in oaCApture

Hello. With these cameras, which sensor frame input option would produce the best output colors? I am saving the image outputs in TIFF format. I know that the bayer matrix is RGGB, at least for the 185mc camera. The options from oaCapture are: 1. RGB24 2. RGGB12 Thank you for help with this decision...

Re: ASI v 1.5 for Mac what are the image saving formats

Thank you Mouling for the info. I also realized that asiCap does not save still images (ex. DSOs) as one file. It saved my comet image as individual frame (fits) files. So for a 30 second capture it saved well over 40 individual fits files. Am I doing something wrong or is this not a feature for thi...
