asi 1600mc-c cannot debayer to get correct colors

Hello. I hope all of you are staying healthy. I have the above mentioned camera. I only recently started capturing in the 16 bit raw mode, and saving in fits format. I use Siril for calibration/stacking and debayering. when I open the "debayered" stack, the image is ll green. Then when I sue the Bac...

Re: spacing requirement for a focal reducer

Chuckwagon, I used three different spacings, 5mm, 15mm and 25mm. Before I even submitted the captures, we saw that all the spacings produced (apparently) the same FOV. There was no noticeable change. The capture app did not change the field dimensions. All were at the max that you stated. When I sub...

Re: spacing requirement for a focal reducer

Hi again chuckwagon. My friend and I did some spacing test last night. The only test I did not do since I had (temporarily) misplaced the 1-¼" focuser adapter, was the "no reducer" test. I do not yet have an adapter, to connect the camera directly to the telescope focuser (2" nosepiece to female T42...

Re: spacing requirement for a focal reducer

Hello chuckwagon and thank you for your detailed reply. I did submit the image to nova.astrometry.net and the FOV came back as 768X1031 arcseconds. This (if correct) seems to be way to large for the recommended 55mm spacing. The FR/FF is the one designed for my scope. I will take your ideas, and sta...

Re: spacing requirement for a focal reducer

Hello Katherine and thank you for your reply. Please forgive me, but I do not know what specific information you need. Here is what I have. As for back focus, I mentioned that the manufacturer of the focal reducer (FR) recommends a spacing (Back Focus) of 55mm from the rear shoulder of the FR to the...

Re: spacing requirement for a focal reducer

Hello Benni. Although I appreciate your effort, to provide me with some information, it did not address my questions. Since I already have the equipment I listed, I am only interested in the best spacing for the combination. The AT focal reducer was designed for the scope I have and for today's astr...

spacing requirement for a focal reducer

Hello. I just bought an Astro Tech (AT) .8 focal reducer/flattener model ATR8 for my scope, and ZWO camera. I have the AT 80mm/F480mm ED triplet scope and the ZWO1600MC-C camera. The FR/FF is apparently made by GSO. The manufacturer recommends a spacing (FF rear shoulder to camera sensor) of 55mm. I...

Re: ZWOasi1600mc-c captures stars as doubles

Thank you again Chuckwagon. Your suggestions are very thoughtful and I will check them out. When i balance the RA, I always use an East offset. I will try a mess offset with the DEC as well. I will then finish with new PEC trainings. When all this has been (hopefully) addressed and fixed, I will be ...

Re: ZWOasi1600mc-c captures stars as doubles

Hi chuckwagon, thank you for your info. My mount is a Mountain Instruments MI-250. I was not guiding, The stars (not including the double issue) were pretty round, so it tracked well. I will need to test different exposure lengths, to see if the issue gets worse or better. I will also recheck the ba...

Re: ZWOasi1600mc-c captures stars as doubles

Thank you riklaunin for your reply. Yes it looks like that, but why does it do that on nearly every other sub? That is what confuses me. With 90 second subs, it is to short to be a PEC issue. This only started happening a couple of weeks ago. And as I mentioned, it happens with two different capture...
