Re: Guiding issues

If it complains about poor axes, that may indicate the camera isn't mounted orthogonal to the RA/Dec axes. On mine (using an ASI174MM-mini guide camera and an Orion ST-80 guide-scope) I had to bump up the Max RA & Dec durations (in milliseconds) just slightly from the defaults and it started behavin...

Re: backup sd card

Is there any recommended software tool for backup an image of the SD card if using MacOS ? Will there be an update later, to run bigger SD cards like 64GB /128GB ...? Thx a lot, BR Marco The mac is Unix, so it has built-in capability to deal with things like this. See: https://thepihut.com/blogs/ra...

Re: Can a larger SD card be used?

This is a bit complicated. I looked into it. The card has a few partitions on it... it has a couple of Linux “ext4” partitions, a large FAT32 partition, and I think it had a swap partition. Regardless, it’s the FAT32 partition where the images are stored. While you normally can tell the OS to “grow”...

USA (Michigan) iPad Pro Losmandy GM-8 w/Gemini II controller ASI128MC-PRO, ASI174MM-Cool, ASI174MM-Mini EFW Mini I did encounter what is probably a bug (I worked around it) and also wanted to offer some feedback or a request for enhancement. The bug: I set up the sequencer to shoot 20 x 300s exposur...

Re: ASIAIR User Feedback

USA (Michigan) iPad Pro Losmandy GM-8 w/Gemini II controller ASI128MC-PRO, ASI174MM-Cool, ASI174MM-Mini EFW Mini 1. First problem: product can't see through clouds. Can you fix that with a firmware update? ;) 2. I've tested with the ASI128MC-Pro and ASI174MM-mini (haven't tested the ASI174MM-Cool ye...

Re: ASIAIR--Astrophotograph has never been easy

This seems like an ideal product for me... as I have an ASI174MM-Cool that I use for Ha Solar imaging, an ASI128MC-Pro for deep-sky imaging, and an ASI174-Mini for guiding. (That, and I'm always griping about why astronomy software still requires people lug around laptops when iPads and phones are s...

Re: ASIAIR--Astrophotograph has never been easy

That sounds great to not have to bring a laptop along. But one question... I’ve used similar devices in the past and they tend to want to create their own WiFi network and expect the user’s phone to join the device’s wifi (which isn’t connected to the internet). I want something that works the other...
