Re: USB3 Cable lengthening options

In my case, this worked for me.

Not a dropped frame or connection since switching to it. Just as much depends on your hub or USB port. 3.0 can be picky.

ASI 120MM-S Gain for guiding?

I currently guide(ascom) with an asi120mm-S camera. My SNR seems to be on the low side even with 2x2 noise reduction and of course a dark library. It has been fine in the past but after a driver update, I am unsure if my gain settings changed, I never really checked them before for guiding. So my qu...

1600mm Here we go again image effect...

Well I took the advice in this thread http://zwoug.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=6951 and got no where. Plugged every possible light leak and still odd image effect. Here is the latest. A short stack of M96 stacked in Pixinsight. A stretch has been applied but not ABE or DBE yet. I did apply them in a sa...

Re: 1600MM odd image effect

I will look for stray light tonight, I know it wasn't the moon as it was not out. Maybe a power light indicator is giving a glow somewhere is all I can really think of.

Thanks

Re: 1600MM odd image effect

Here is the master dark file. The first image is a stretched version of the dark file for detail. The second image is the actual master dark used. The stretched version looses a little noise when saved as a jpg. The fits file is to large to post though.

Re: 1600MM odd image effect

This is from a stack of 65 images all exposed for 60 seconds each. No OAG, Orion mini deluxe guide scope with an asi 120mm-s guide camera. Also using the ZWO electronic filter wheel, but all these images were taken with the Luminance filter only. The moon was below the horizon for these images. I us...
