Problem with ASI1600MM

Hi, I've an issue connecting to my ASI1600MM I'm not quite sure where it is but might be due to the most recent driver. The only program that seems to be able to run the camera, including cooling, successfully is SharpCap 3.1. I have the same problem in ASICap, Voyager and The SkyX; sometimes I mana...

Re: 2" EFW Telescope OAG opening

Thank you Katherine,

Are ZWO planning to have an option for a larger opening or if not then would it be possible to order a spare 2” EFW front plate so I can adapt it myself ?

Many thanks

Re: 2" EFW Telescope OAG opening

Thank you Katherine for the reply.

The question was regarding the telescope side of the filter wheel and not the OAG !

The M68 telescope side of the OAG is fine but that’s of no use if the rest of the openings are undersize.

I can post a picture if that helps.

Kind regards
Robert

2" EFW Telescope OAG opening

Hi, The unobstructed opening of the FW side of the M68 OAG looks to be about 55mm, can you confirm that will be the same on the front of the 2" filter wheel i.e. a 55mm opening to match. I have an f/3 telescope and need to know that the full frame sensor on the ASI6200 won't be vignetted at that foc...

Re: ASCOM enhancement

Hi Chad, Thanks for the reply. I found this on the ASCOM site: https://ascom-standards.org/Help/Developer/html/P_ASCOM_DriverAccess_Camera_Gain.htm Does this mean that control of gain is indeed available via the ASCOM interface or that ZWO have not implemented that particular property ? If not imple...

ASCOM enhancement

Hi,

Would it be possible to enhance the ASCOM interface so that Gain and Offset can be set programmatically without having to disconnect the camera (and setting manually ? This feature would be particularly useful for programs that don’t interface to the native driver.

Many thanks

Re: Sensor not central to camera

Hi Sam, You're right. Even though the sensor looks way out by eye I've confirmed it is actually 252 microns (0.252mm) off (that's 105 pixels * 2.4 microns) i.e. slightly off spec. In an ideal world it would have been nice to have it perfectly central but I shouldn't think that will matter too much i...

Re: ASI1600MM Vertical Banding

If it helps I had horizontal banding on my ASI1600 which was caused by using a different manufacturers (also Chinese) camera as a guide cam. I lowered the usb traffic setting on both cameras and that seemed to have cured it. Robert P.S. USB is digital so that should not happen but I suspect some tim...

Re: Sensor not central to camera

Hi Sean, I've added a file to show what it looks like. I've added a few rough lines to help show what I mean. The sensor also doesn't seem to be perfectly orthogonal though I've yet to see how much difference this makes at f/3 in practice (I've not enough backfocus for the tilt adjuster. Many thanks...
