Re: oaCapture Camera settings for "Force Input Frame Format"

Thank you Katherine.
I also found out that the "Force Input Frame Format, IAW the user manual, is not needed unless to override what the fits info has (if say it is incorrect).

Cameras will not connect with Indi server-Mac

Hello again. I have the asi185mc and 1600mc-c (no hub). They will connect fine using the INDI in kstars, but not with the stand-alone INDI starter-server. I have been wanting to use CCDCiel, but it needs these drivers loaded from the INDI Server. Since we do not install the asi drivers on a Mac, how...

oaCapture Camera settings for "Force Input Frame Format"

Hello again. I use oaCapture (now that it's issues are fixed) but need advice on these settings. My main imager is the ZWOasi1600mc-c. In the oaCapture Camera screen there is the option as stated in the subject line. That option has over a dozen capture modes. Do I need this option checked? I am ima...

Re: oaCapture version 1.5 for Mac crashes when selecting the asi1600mc-c camera

Hi Sean, thank you for the reply. Yes, I have tried to use ASICAP on my mac computer. It does work but there are two issues with it that I addressed before, on this website. 1. ASICAP does not have the feature to save the images in TIFF format (I believe for 16bit RAW it is fits only). 2. In ASICAP ...

oaCapture version 1.5 for Mac crashes when selecting the asi1600mc-c camera

I am running all this on my Mac Mini with OS X El Capitan. The app does not crash when I select the asi185mc camera. Both cameras are connected to the same USB 3.0 powered hub, to the Mac Mini. This is the only app that has this issue. I can select the asi1600mc-c with ASICapture, Firecapture, Astro...

Re: Fire capture 2.6 for Mac settings for asi1600mc-cooled

Chad, thank you again for your great support. My powered USB 3.0hub is a high quality one. I have three items connected to it: 1. ZWO guide camera (asi185mc) 2. ZWO imaging camera (asi1600mc-c) 3. Optec TCF-Si focuser via serial to USB 2.0 adapter cable. The cable(s) connecting the hub to the Mac Mi...

Drivers for the new ALPACA platform

To the ZWO software team, here is my question. Are you working on camera (and filter wheel) drivers for the new platform (ALPACA) that will replace ASCOM? According to tech support at my focuser company (Optec), that platform should be ready this year. Here is a link to the ASCOM/ALPACA webpage. htt...

Re: Fire capture 2.6 for Mac settings for asi1600mc-cooled

Chad, thank you again for the info. I did some testing and the "VNG" debayer method worked the best for my setup. Also, the banding issue is no longer showing. All is well. I do want to verify a different camera use (connection). The camera setup document mentions to NOT use a powered USB 3.0 hub. I...

Re: asi1600mc-c can the FPGA code be upgraded via a Mac

Hello again Chad. I need to see what firmware version the camera has, because it is producing the vertical banding issue as seen on older posts here. Updating the firmware seemed to correct that problem. The link you gave me leads to a Windows only utility. Can the firmware version be checked using ...

Re: Fire capture 2.6 for Mac settings for asi1600mc-cooled

Chad, thank you for that info.
I also need to know which debayer method (algorithm) should be used, such as bilinear, nearest neighbor etc.?
