Re: ASIAir Pro - potential to revolutionize EAA!!!!

How will the ASIAir Pro handle white balance? Will there be manual control? I noticed that ASILive was not able to handle white balance while using narrow bandpass filters such as Optolong L-enhance. This capability is required for EAA since there is no post-processing.

ASIAir Pro - potential to revolutionize EAA!!!!

Just noticed the ASIAir Pro product description on this website. Kudos to ZWO! This will undoubtably be a great product. I am a proud owner of a ASI294MC Pro and use it exclusively for EAA. My workflow presently involves using SharpCap Pro on a Windows laptop for camera interface and Sky Safari Pro ...

Re: ASI Air - EAA Live stacking

Sam, Any idea when live stacking might be implemented? I got into EEA about a year ago with an ASI294MC camera (and then an ASI294MC-Pro) and was a little taken back by the fact that (Windows only) Sharpcap seems to be the only software available that implements live stacking. ASIAIR seems to have t...

Re: What kind of noise is this?

Sean, Thanks for the quick reply. I think I see what you're saying, but I'm having a little trouble getting my head around this. BTW - I'm not using guiding, just have a polar aligned GEM. I went back and checked several pictures from different DSO's (taken with different orientations of the camera)...

What kind of noise is this?

I've been using an ASI294 with Sharpcap Ver3.1 and 3.2 beta over the last few months in EEA mode, i.e. relatively realtime, with short (less than 30 seconds) and live stacking. I've been seeing a weird noise that seems to be limiting my ability to resolve even relatively bright DSO's. Lagoon Nebula ...

Re: Live Stacking software besides SharpCap

I'm in the same boat in that I'd strongly prefer to use MacOS but the offerings have problems: 1) AstroLive doesn't detect my camera - ASI294 (uncooled). Can anything be done about that? 2) FireCapture has a "Live Stacking" feature in preprocessing, but the display is not updated until the pre-deter...
