ASI2600MC M54 front plate

Hi,

Would it be possible to use the front plate of the ASI6200MM (M54) instead of the original M42 plate? I already have some imaging trains that end in M54 male and it would be way easier to just swap the front plate instead of the whole set of adapters.

Thanks,

José

Slow readout - Camara as autoguider

Hi, I am putting together a new imaging rig that uses as a main camera an ASI1600MMCV3 and as a guide camera an ASI120MM. The host computer is windows 10 32bit laptop with 2G of ram. I am using MaximDL to drive the cameras. The host laptop only have USB2 ports, so even is connected and running on US...

Re: Background artifact issue

Hi, Since the calibration images don't fully match the properties of the light frames there is no way to correct this issue. There might be some workarounds in postprocessing where you can 'hide' the background residual artifacts but in doing so it is inevitable to remove weak real signals. For inst...

Re: Background artifact issue

Thank you so much. We will keep working on this issue. We saw a post on CN said Sony A7 have same issue. that guy use some processing trick to get rid of it. Do you want me to run any other test? The camera looks very sensitive and I am really looking forward to find a solution for this issue. Chee...

Re: Background artifact issue

Hi, These are some master flats created with different exposures times, 1s and 5s. A flatman screen with controllable brightness was used to for the capture. The histogram of the flats had 3 humps, the green hump was ending close to 30k ADU. The red and blue humps were close to 11k ADUs. The flats w...

Re: Background artifact issue

Hi, Andy was the first user report this. I read his post, looks he use 2min exposure to reduce the artifact. Another guy use Sony A7 looks have same issue, he wrote a post too, I think he find some way in processing to reduce the issue. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/576265-sony-a7s-purplegreen...

Re: Background artifact issue

Hi, I am experiencing a similar situation with my ASI294 even with 60s lights. I am calibrating my images with darks, dark-flats and flats and the integrated stack exhibit a residual pattern. I also own an ASI1600MMC-V3 that I use with the same optics (Takahashi FS60 and Epsilon 160) and the same ca...

Re: Canon Lens Adapter with access to focusing control

Hi Jose I agree with Sam if we're talking about auto-focusing a camera lens and a ZWO camera when imaging deep sky objects. Perhaps one can find a bright enough star like Vega and use FocusMax in order to complete a focusing V-curve but it is always best to manual focus. Now for autofocusing on bri...

Re: Canon Lens Adapter with access to focusing control

Sam wrote:this is not easy to do
and auto focus usually doesnot work well at night
Hi Sam,

The whole idea is to expose the internal lens focusing mechanism as an ASCOM focuser so we can use focusmax or any other astrophotography focusing software.

Cheers,

Jose

Canon Lens Adapter with access to focusing control

Hi Sam, I like a lot the short backfocus of your cameras, it makes OAG a reality even with 56mm backfocus reducers. I am looking to your Canon lens adapter solution and is amazing that you can squeeze a filter wheel between the lens and camera, this is fantastic specially for the new CMOS cameras wi...
