Re: ZWO ASI 533 will not cool

Sorry there is no change in the latest batch of cameras. Maybe you could check the fan runs normally or the voltage is enough. You could try to test again by using our ASIStudio software. First I wanted to say thank you for all your responses thus far! I am running ASI Studio right now. From +20C T...

Re: ZWO ASI 533 will not cool

Do not worry, it is normal. The ASI533 can cool to 35 degrees under ambient at best, it is tested in room temperature 25 degree. When the ambient temperature gets lower, it will be difficult for it to get 35 degrees under ambient. Here is a FAQ on our website about this problem for your reference. ...

Re: ZWO ASI 533 will not cool

More tests today: using APT: 1. I read the User Guide for APT, which states that if you enter "0" for cooling steps, it leaves the cooling to the driver 2. Downloaded the latest version of APT (3.8.4), that has the correct native driver (previous version would not connect with native driver) It cool...

Re: ZWO ASI 533 will not cool

I just received a brand new ZWO ASI 533 MC Pro, and it will only cool 20C below ambient, starting at 15 Celsius, and often takes several tries, restarting the cooling process from the previous temperature. The specifications say it should cool 35C below ambient. My ZWO ASI 183MM and 183MC both easi...

Re: Sudden Offset (and gain) Change

Hi there Not sure about this, but I really suspect dew happened on the lens. Maybe it vanished and get better SNR. The offset had dropped back down to "normal". What is normal means? Definitely not dew. The optics and the sky were clear throughout the night. I have over an hour's worth of images th...

Sudden Offset (and gain) Change

Last night the offset (and maybe the gain) suddenly changed on my ZWO ASI 183MM Pro cooled camera. These are the events that happened: 1. I connected the camera through SharpCap to do a Polar Alignment with the main imaging camera and scope. When complete, I disconnected the camera and closed SharpC...

Re: EOS Lens Adapter Loose - EFW Version

Please take a look of previous post, I told one way to make adapter tighter. I think I have taken care of it. I purchased 0.0125 inch (0.32mm) polyester shim stock and cut it into a washer, with a small hole in it. https://www.mcmaster.com/9513k21 That seems to have removed most or all of the slop ...

Re: EOS Lens Adapter Loose - EFW Version

Hi, I too own a ZWO-EFW-EOS, and it has a tremendous amount of play in it. I measured the gap to be 0.3mm Is there a spacer to tighten this up, or can I get the newer version, that supposedly is tighter? It is loose on all my lenses (at least 6 of them), causing tilt, and thus stars get elongated fr...

SharpCap Gain versus ZWO Gain

What is the conversion to go from the Gain that SharpCap displays, which is 0 to 600, on their slider, to the actual gain of the ASI 224MC, which goes from 0 to 350? (0 db to 35 db). Is the SharpCap Gain, db? That is, 600 is 60 db? (If so, I would never use that setting, as it is much too high). Or ...
