Re: ASI183MC-P amp glow

Bob, I emailed Vanessa at ZWO and here is what she said. Perhaps you can send them a dark like she suggested. Chris A Email below I don' think they have no amp-glow at all, and we do not have any firmware, hardware, software or driver change in these latest made ASI183 cameras could you please ask y...

Incorporate dark & flat subtraction in ASICAP

I like the way the new ASICAP is looking and I know that you are looking at supporting live stacking for EAA in the near future but could you also consider adding live dark & flat subtraction also please?

Re: Is There a Simple Way to Check and Upgrade Camera Firmwa

Hi Dan I would also like this camera as well as all other CMOS cameras to have less or no amp glow but due to the nature of the CMOS I don't think it is possible esp. as the gain or exposure increases. I guess it is best to wait for Sam to respond here and he can explain it better than I can. I am u...

Re: Is There a Simple Way to Check and Upgrade Camera Firmwa

I currently have the following ASI cameras: 183mmPro, 294mcPro, 174mm, 290mm, 224mc and 385mc. The 183mmPro has considerable amounts of amp glow as well as brightening in both lower corners. I know this has been a problem as indicated in the forums of CloudyNights. As I await an email response to a...

Re: Is There a Simple Way to Check and Upgrade Camera Firmwa

It is very easy to eliminate the amp glow by using matching (same temperature, offset, gain and exposure times) dark's. You should always use dark calibration when imaging anyways.

Re: Somethings missing or it's me

Hi Sam I completely agree with Don and have noticed the same when testing the latest software version 1.01 with using darks only due to weather issues here. I think that ASICAP would make a terrific DSO all in one program for near real-time (EAA) if these features mentioned were added. 1. adding a c...

Re: ASICAP PC version beta V0.22

I started to use this program, sounds still needs more enhancement, for example if you can add filter wheel controls, also i still don't know how to change the files format, i only see PNG for still and AVI for videos, so there is no FIT and SER? I also see only Gain, no Offset, unless i don't see ...

Re: ASICAP PC version beta V0.22

Hi Sam

I am also getting this error message when closing the program v1.0. I did not have this error message with v0.22 and I am using window 7 pro.

Re: Canon Lens Adapter with access to focusing control

Hi Jose, I have focused using my Batinov mask and my camera lenses (Canon 100 mm f/2.8 prime & 70 to 200 mm f/4) quite well but I will admit that it is not easy. I am going to make some follow focus devices for both lenses. I would admit that it would be nice to have a motorized version like the one...

Re: Canon Lens Adapter with access to focusing control

Hi Jose I agree with Sam if we're talking about auto-focusing a camera lens and a ZWO camera when imaging deep sky objects. Perhaps one can find a bright enough star like Vega and use FocusMax in order to complete a focusing V-curve but it is always best to manual focus. Now for autofocusing on brig...
