Re: M68 OAG and Mini cameras

I also was planning on connecting my ASI174 mini (USB2) to the hub on the ASI6200. If this is not supported ,and causes the main imager to drop to USB2 speeds, then that is a SERIOUS design flaw. Why would you advertise a camera with USB3 connection and extra USB2 ports ...PLUS specify that the mini...

M68 OAG and Mini cameras

Which one of the mini cameras is the best pairing with the M68 OAG? I have the 174MM mini, but I think that the OAG might not fully cover the sensor of that camera. Also, what is the backfocus of the camera once placed in the OAG? My flattener requires 55mm, and the camera will have that, but will t...

ASI6200 binning

I'm wondering about the binning capabilities of the ASI 6200 (mono). Will this be on camera binning using a 16 bit ADC, 12 bit ADC, or software binning in the driver? Also, how does the binning compare with read noise and full well stats? I'm hoping to get just as good of binning that I do with my C...

Re: ASI6200MM Release Date

Nothing? I asked the same thing on OPT and same response... silence. I went ahead and ordered one, but would like to get a basic estimate of delivery. 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 months? I know I am going to have to order (or make) some adapters, so the sooner I know when I might have it, the sooner I can ge...

ASI6200MM Release Date

If I was to order one of these cameras (the full package, Camera, OAG, FW7) when would they start shipping? Technically, its the start of 2020 .. but do you mean first quarter, or something specific like Jan 10th? Also, for the OAG, will the ASI174MM be a good match for this? I plan on using this wi...

Re: exposure duration during video capture

I'll probably start on snapshot mode in the next few days once I wrap up a few more issues with the Video mode capture. I have a few algorithms that I think might work for the brightness calculations and will also check out the OpenCV libraries. I was just looking into that library to see how it dea...

C# performance

I thought I would share some performance examples of using the SDK on various platforms using C# (and USB2 vs USB3). These will be basic numbers of just setting the camera in video mode, reading the frames as fast as possible and converting the image into an 8bppIndexed bitmap. This is full camera r...

Re: exposure duration during video capture

OK.. Makes a bit of sense now why you recommended going to the single exposure vs the video. What algorithm are you using for processing the image for brightness. A simple average of the pixels, an RMS (root mean square), or some other calculation. I'd like to start out by getting the results as clo...

Re: exposure duration during video capture

Perhaps I'll give it a try .. but offloading that calculation to the camera is better from a resource point of view.
