Re: ASI Air - EAA Live stacking

Another vote for live stacking in ASI Air for iOS devices. I’d buy one in a heartbeat if it had this feature

Re: 385MC "amp" Glow worse at lower temperatures

Thanks Chad. I created the master dark just before I started my live stacking. But the amp glow did not fully calibrate out with the master dark during live stacking. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can get the master dark to fully calibrate out the amp glow?

Re: New 1600MC Pro Smudges on Sensor

I have a 2-nd generation 1600MC-C (not Pro). If it's any consolation, here is a master flat. I can tell you that it does calibrate out. I've been very happy with my 1600MC-C.

Re: 385MC "amp" Glow worse at lower temperatures

Also, here are two live-stacked image saved from SharpCap Pro 3.2 with the 15.2C master dark applied. There is still a blue glow in the upper right corner of the image that does not calibrate out.

385MC "amp" Glow worse at lower temperatures

I have a 385MC with firmware version V 3.0. I've now had a chance to use the camera during the warm summer months as well as the cooler winter months. I've noticed that the "amp" glow in my master darks (created with SharpCap Pro 3.2) is much worse at cooler temperatures. Here are two 15-second mast...

Re: Live Stacking software besides SharpCap

You need to capture your subs using SharpCap or another camera control program. You then point Astrotoaster to the folder where the subs are being written as the camera captures them. Astrotoaster will then monitor that folder and stack each new sub as it comes in from the camera.

Re: Live Stacking software besides SharpCap

If you have an Atik or Starlight Xpress camera, you can use the Infinity or Starlight Live live stacking software. For ZWO cameras besides SharpCap there is also Astrotoaster http://www.astrotoaster.com/download

Re: ASI 1600 MC and Flataid in APT 3.30

Hi Rainer,

I have found that using Flats with a mean ADU of 15K - 20K works best for my purposes with my ASI1600MC-Cool.

Re: ASI 1600 MC and Flataid in APT 3.30

Rainer,

Thanks for your reply. I have so far tested flats with mean ADU of between 13K - 15K with good results. I will next try flats with mean ADU up to 20K just to see if the results work better for my images.

Re: ASI 1600 MC and Flataid in APT 3.30

Rainer, Thanks for your reply. Which ADU value gave you the best results for your flats? I am testing between 9000 - 13,000 ADU, which is half of the ASI1600 color camera's full well of 20,000 ADU. But I don't know if my range is correct, since you are testing a much larger range of 7500 - 30,000. T...
