Hi ZWO support,
there is a strange problem with my ASI294MC Pro. Whenever i turn on the cooler, something appears after a few minutes. I call it 'the annoying noise blob'. It took me several months to hunt the problem down, but now it seems to be clear that it is related to the cooler. I set up a test scenario, where i took flats with a Lacerta Flat Field box - some cooled, some uncooled. Here is the result (stretched and background extracted):
Uncooled, everything fine:
Cooled, annoying noise blob made it to the image:
This is how it looks in a sample image (no calibration frames, just stretched and brackground extracted):
Just take a look right of NGC 7023, where the noise blob is clearly visible.
I tried really a lot to get rid off the annoying noise blob, but i have no more idea. The only way is to turn off the cooler, but it is not satisfactory to own a cooled camera where one can not use the cooler :(
Do you have any idea what is going on here?
Thanks in advance,
Michael
