I understand that the drop down menu selection for LRGBSHO loads the appropriate graphic for the filter wheel plus filter name in the main screen of the GUI, so space is limited for long filter names. A manual keyboard entry for filter names would not be easily represented on that main GUI graphic.
Perhaps consider as a suggestion to add the following shortened acronyms to that drop down selection for these popular light pollution filters:
-CLS-CCD can simply be the shorter CLS
-UHC
-Moon and Skyglow can be M&S
-L-Pro
-There are also many IDAS filters, perhaps just D2, D4, V2 and V4
-Duo
-Triad
The above shortened filter names should fit in well with the GUI graphic of the filter wheel in the main screen.
The way the filter selection is now and the fact that a filter name can be written into the saved file name of an exposure, means that if one does not select from LRGBSHO because they are using a different named filter, then one is simply left with the filter slot position number being written into the file name i.e. I have a CLS-CCD in position 5 and my exposure file name has the number 5 written into it.
This is obviously not crucial to the main functionality of the app, but nevertheless can be a very useful addition to the ASIAIR app if one can able to keep good organisation with the actual names of the filters used in their exposures. This can prove especially useful when revisiting older data.
Hope this helps
