Hi,
I have this same issue with my Orion Sirius Pro (EQ-5). Plate solving is accomplished faster than anything I've seen before (1-2 seconds) and I press Sync- and it says "sync failed" and nothing is corrected in the Sky Safari App. I understand the issue is with the Synscan's limitations as explained above. However, where I am, three star alignment is impracticable if not impossible (and thus I haven't even been able to determine if this is a fix).
I cannot help but wonder if there is a software solution, be it from ZWO or Sky Safari's makers. I have run into this same issue before with Sky Safari and this mount. .
However, the program I used before receiving my ASIAIR (Cloudmaker's suite of AstroImager/AstroTelescope/Autoguder, etc. for Mac IOS) does not have this issue at all. I can setup my scope, complete a one star alignment (it does require at least 1 star alignment), and immediately slew, plate solve, and sync/slew in the AstroTelescope app. Therefore- it is certainly possible- so surely ASIAIR can accomplish it too somehow?
Without the plate solving sync, the elegant simplicity of the ASIAIR is ruined. it's my understanding EQMOD would require a PC to be brought into the mix which defeats a large purpose of the device.
