It's not that I need to compare mounts, it's more that I am trying to understand my own mount better so I can adjust for the optimal settings. As you stated in another post, one person's guiding numbers don't apply to another's situation, too many variables such as payload weight, quality of mount, seeing conditions, focal length, etc. \
In music, overtones refer to both harmonic and non=harmonic tones, i.e. a non-pitched instrument will produce overtones, but not harmonic in the sense of even- or odd-order harmonics, i.e 1st, 2nd, 2rd, 4th, etc. harmonics. And the violin too, can produce non-harmonic overtones when plucked or scraped or just tapping on the wood! It's funny because my AM5 mount's harmonics look like a simple modified sine wave on a software synthesizer but adding an extra harmonic or two.
I've been trying to learn from the other posts. The last time I went out to image, guiding was going really well for hours, down to .26" DEC and .4" RA, but then suddenly everything went haywire and I don't really know why.
I think you're absolutely right about lowering the MAX RA and MAX DEC duration, I lowered them to around 500ms and found my guiding getting much better and staying better longer.
