chaosnix68 So I go to preview (guide off) -> Live Video (center the planet) -> Preview guiding (select new star) -> back to live Video....
If you have a second iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or even an Apple Silicon Mac, you can connect it simultaneously to the ASIAIR (max of two smart devices). Select the guide window on that second tablet, then enter the video mode (or Autorun mode) on the primary tablet. You now have direct control of both (i.e., be able to turn on and off guiding at any time).
I do this when I want to auto guide on stars around a planet, and need to periodically compensate for slight movement of the planet against the stars (autoguiding guides on stars and not on the planet).
Because of a flaw in ASIAIR autoguiding, you also need to restart (stop and start) autoguiding now and then (ASIAIR multi-centroid star tracking does not treat long term field rotation correctly), so I use this method too when I use Autorun (which also otherwise also requires window switching to reach the guide window).
