bobequus Why is the manual an image and not type readable? Makes RTFM more difficult.
I forwarded this to our team, will consider opitimize it. Thank you.
bobequus Sometimes my mount buzzes/beeps for several minutes but works fine. Any ideas why?
If the voltage is below 10.8V, it will beeps. 2 amp AC 12V power supply. I've used it for several years with my Vixen mount with no problems. I had it hooked up to a battery when I first got the unit and when the battery dropped I got the beeps but it also rendered the AM5 unusable until I upped the voltage. I also got the beeps when I used the 12V output on the mount to power my QHY camera (5 amp power supply for this). I got the beeps when the camera was running at near full or full power to cool the camera. Since the mount has a 5 amp limit on its output and most cooled cameras need 5 amps, it became clear that using the mounts output for a cooled camera is not a good choice. Since then I've been using separate power supplies for the mount and camera.
bobequus I'm having some problems with the wireless app on my Android. Seems to drop every so often. Sometimes it will re-connect by itself, but usually I have to reset the WiFi.
How far away the phone is from the device? do you have other devices to test? I tested with two phones, one current android and the other with an older (V9?) Android version. The older version worked better than the new, but I still would get dropouts although they were less frequent and a re-connect was faster. Phones were never further than five feet from the mount/handset and in most cases just inches away during tests.
bobequus Last night, I had problems with PHD2 crashing whenever a dither was called by APT. I tried three different cameras on the guide scope and several USB cables in different configurations as well. Since nothing worked, I am assuming it is a problem with the AM5. I'm still early into this problem so I don't have a lot of info as of yet.
The hardware won't cause this problem, you can ask PHD2 support for some help. Still unsure what is causing this. I will try some different USB cables and cable setups as I believe that the USB is the root of the problem.
I appreciate you help. Thank you.
