Hello, I have a new ASI533MC Pro that refuses to be recognized if I attempt to power it using only a power-enabled laptop port. I've tried the following:
- Power-enabled Thunderbolt 4 port on a Dell Inspiron 5510, connecting to the camera using a USB 3 C to A adapter and then using a USB 3 cable.
- Power-enabled USB 3 port on a Lenovo P52
- Power-enabled Thunderbolt 3 port on that same Lenovo P52, connecting to the camera using a USB 3 C to A adapter and then using a USB 3 cable.
In all cases, the USB 3 power-enabled connection is insufficient to "wake up" the camera. I need to connect a 12V power supply to the 533 in order for it to "wake up" and be recognized by my laptops.
Is this expected behavior?
For EAA purposes, I'd prefer to run the camera uncooled -- that is, without the 12V power cord being connected to the camera.
Is this feasible? If so, what do I need to do to enable power via USB 3 to be sufficient?
