It’s enter twice to set date/location which you can leave since it remembers last location & date/time. It wouldnt hurt to set or confirm on through to the alignment step.
correct, you do the quick align from the HC, that option is there where you did 1-star, just arrow up/down with the HC until you see quick align and choose that, it only takes 2 seconds and nothing moves, now the HC will say “CGX Ready”
You shouldn’t have to worry about location/time as I mentioned, but I would set it to ensure the mount is 100% correct or at least close. When setting time always choose standard, never use Daylight savings. When the app connects to the mount it updates the date, time, location based on phone data, but I dont know if it set’s other things internal to the mount like pier side and hemisphere. So to be safe I would set those via the HC when prompted at initial power on as part of my step 3 I listed.
that should be all you need. One optional suggestion I use is buried in the menu under scope setup or utilities is “meridian” and it allows you to choose when to flip, Default I think is off, I set to “favor West” which causes the mount to flip earlier if possible. Set once and it remembers always, so just a one-time thing.
all together, these steps take like 20 seconds to get the mount working with ASiair.
