kevinmgill Yes, I have tried the reset button with only power and antenna connected.
Yikes, Kevin. Even with a long reset , and not just a short press?
A long reset (> 10 seconds) should recover the copy of the original firmware from the eMMC memory. A short reset will only reset the processor, keeping the same firmware, which could be the part that is fubar.
I have not done it myself, so I have no idea how long the recovery process takes to complete.
Contact your dealer to see if they can replace the unit, if recovering the original firmware still fails.
My dealer replaced mine even though their web site shows it to be out of stock. The good dealers will hold back some stock (or open box units) for products that have high failure rates. So, even though their web site shows no stock, they may actually have a replacement for you. (My dealer shipped me a replacement even before I boxed up my first ASIAIR "plus" up to send it back. They are a three-hour drive from me, so the unit arrived overnight by ground shipping.)
If the firmware recovery succeeds, your tablet will update that original firmware to the current firmware the next time you connect the app to the hardware.
In case you are not aware, never, ever power off the ASIAIR without first performing a soft shutdown from the "ASIAIR Settings" window, and then wait for the green system activity light on the ASIAIR hardware to extinguish completely before removing power.
