I have a SkyGuider Pro with a T7 DSLR, ASI178MC guide cam, and the AA+. Polar alignment is terrible.
I am not using the beta version of PA. I turn off the power to the mount, it takes the first pic, I rotate 60 degrees, takes a second pic and then wants me to fine tune alignment to NCP.
My problem is this: No matter how slowly I move the alt-az adjustments I can NEVER get the yellow "RA" circle in the NCP aiming reticle. NEVER. Not once. So frustrating. I've wasted two nights of clear skies monkeying with "features" that look to be bugs.
It seems that every time I get the RA circle even close to the inside of the NCP reticle the PA will "reset" and move the RA circle far away from the NCP reticle. Even when I got close one time I viewed PA the manual way and it was way off. How can I ever trust this to be accurate?
I'd be happy to learn that this is my fault and have this product work perfectly, but so far this is added weight to my rig with no benefit. đ
