Karenb My laptop does not recognize anything.
No problem. It will work fine.
Power up the ASIAIR. Connect the ASIAIR USB-C port to a USB hub (or the USB Type-A connector on a Mac Mini).
Do not connect the ASIAIR directly to a Thunderbolt port of a Mac. It won't work; the ASIAIR does not support Thunderbolt.
You can find cables and adapters that have a built in serial to Thunderbolt adapter too. But a USB Hub at the Mac end is the simplest solution.
Once connected properly, the ASIAIR appears as a disk volume on your desktop (if Finder is set up to do that.)
Be sure, as usual, to eject that volume before removing the cable. Otherwise you risk not closing files properly.
ASIAIR <usb c> cable <USB type A> USB-c hub <USB C> Mac.
Even the cheap ribbon USB C to USB A cable that comes with ZWO guide cameras will work to connect the ASIAIR (usb C) to a USB hub (USB Type A).
