Menion Anypne is having the same issue?
I had reported this critical bug during Beta testing, through direct e-mail to make sure it is not missed. Not only did I not receive a courtesy response, ZWO shipped the Beta firmware as part of a general ASIAIR v 1.8.2 anyway. Station Mode bug included.
In my case I only use Station Mode with an old version 1 ASIAIR, in an All Sky camera. My two other ASIAIR are Version 2 (the Raspberry Pi 4 model) and are connected through the LAN (Ethernet) connector, and they did not experience a problem.
There must be a bug that causes the ASIAIR WiFi configuration to be overwritten by garbage when you place the ASIAIR in Station Mode. There are various symptoms, including wiping out the SSID password after the unit is placed in Station Mode and rebooted (cannot log in anymore to the ASIAIR hotspot); I suspect other things got wiped out too.
The only way to get around it is to either connect through the ASIAIR hotspot, or connect the ASIAIR directly to a router or tablet through the LAN connector. And make sure to never choose Station Mode.
I have been testing with the version 1 ASIAIR on Ethernet directly to an eero router, and it has been holding for more than a day now. Even though connected, there is already a weird symptom that the ASIAIR no longer appears in the router's table, but I managed to connect by using the IP instead of the host name. The host name may have been corrupted into something that does not look like a good ASCII string.
If ZWO had read and used my Beta bug report, this would not have happened.
