AstroDude42 This happens with the latest ASIAir v1.8-8.83 release. In earlier versions, this hasn't been a problem.
Olli,
What I had observed in the past is that the targets are generated (and cached) incrementally on the fly. If you scroll down to the rest of the targets, you could actually see them sequentially update on the display.
With v1.8, ZWO might have waited until the entire list is generated before refreshing the display. What I notice now is that the progress bar starts spinning before any target appears. The progress bar spins for a couple of seconds even on an M1 based iPad; I can't even imagine how long it takes on an older iPad. With ASIAIR v1.8, once the initial target appears, you can now scroll down, and the remaining targets are already there, and don't take additional time.
My suspicion is that they are not staging the cache of targets in increments, but only refresh the cache after all the targets have completed. Just bad programming, which of course they will later call "optimization" instead of a bug fix.
An open development environment would have fixed this in an hour.
