@tech@zwo#48185 I have a suggestion as to how to provide an extended numeric range to SCT users without making changes to the EAF firmware. it could be done in PC software as a check box (tick box) in Advanced settings called "Extended Range. With this option enabled an extra digit would be added in front of the 16 bit number, padded with zeroes. For example 100 would become 100100, or 200100 and so on depending on the value of the additional digit.
When the position number reaches 60,000 and the user resets to it to 0, the software could increment the leading digit so that 160,000 becomes 200,000. The reverse would apply when reaching 0 and resetting to 60,000. The number would change from 200,000 to 160,000.
EDIT: Actually the default maximum value should really be 59,999 because 0 to 59,999 is more logical than 0 to 60,000. The boundary conditions would then become 159,999 to 200,000 with increasing numbers and 200,000 to 159,999 with decreasing numbers, which is numerically more correct.
