To run an iOS app on a Mac natively, you will need to satisfy all of the following:
1) the computer is based on the M1 "Apple Silicon" processor that uses the ARM instruction set,
2) you need to run at least macOS 11.3 Big Sur, (M1 computers need Big Sur; if you are still running Catalina, you do not have the M1 processor),
3) the publisher of the app has to comply with some additional iOS API restrictions, and opt-in to allow their app to run on macOS.
ZWO has not (yet) complied with clause (3) above, so the ASIAIR app will not currently run natively on a Mac that is running the latest Big Sur. We do not know if ZWO has any intention to do so, since running with a Mouse and Keyboard has a different GUI experience, and ZWO may not want to cripple the experience.
When the M1 chip computers first came out a couple of months ago, you could "side-load" the ASIAIR app. It indeed worked, but with the caveat that you did not get the touch screen experience. Polar alignment (which arguably you don't need with your permanent pier) especially benefits from the portability of a tablet or smart phone.
Apple has since closed that loophole (ever since macOS 11.1) and you cannot even side load the ASIAIR app into macOS anymore. Apple has stopped code signing the older Big Sur versions.
