Has anyone used the ASIAIR pro for stellar spectroscopy? I'm wondering how polar alignment and guiding went, since the main camera will only be seeing a slit of light stretched across its sensor. I guess you would use the guide camera to do the polar alignment. How efficiently and effectively does that go? Also, in the guiding, you want the target star to be directly on the slit of the spectrometer. How does that happen with the ASIAIR? And how does PA plate solving happen if there is a slit in the middle of the image being used to plate solve?
I love the ASIAIR pro for my DSO imaging, but I'm thinking I'll have to give it up to do spectroscopy. I really don't want to have to use a laptop. 🙁
