Re: Connect to mount via WiFi

Thanks again Chen for takeling the time to raad through that Manual. I’ll go and check it out again to see if I can get it to work. Port 23 does work with SkySafari. It will take a while before I can report back, because I will be gone a while for work. |But I will let you know if it works. Thanks a...

Re: Connect to mount via WiFi?

Hi Chen, Thanks for the answer, I understand, and have already been able to set the mount up in station mode and connect to the ASIAIR. The problem is, that in the menu of the mount there is no way to disable the dhcp. So I do not know what the asdigned ip address is. I als mailed AP to see if they ...

Re: Connect to mount via WiFi?

Thanks, did all that except setting asiair to mastermode. Not sure how to do that. There is no option for me to assign a fixed ip number to the mount, unless I am missing something.

Thanks,

Peter

Re: Connect to mount via WiFi?

Alright, I got as far as changing the WiFi setting of the GTOCP4 to station mode and I got it to connect to the ASIAIR. In the app I am unable to connect to the mount however, probably because it does not have the correct IP address. In the GTOCP4 web interface I cannot find any settings for a fixed...

Connect to mount via WiFi?

Would it be possible to connect my ASIAIR to my telescope mount via WiFi? I am using an Astrophysics GTOCP4 unit which you can connect to via WiFi (besides usb/serial) . It can be configured as a station, where it can connect to the asiair’s Network, which is probably what I need to do. I am expecti...

Re: ASIAIR GUIDE RATE

Hello Chen, Thank you for your very informative answer! I suppose I can experiment a bit with what you suggest. However, while it is a nuisance, I can get it to work with changing slew and guiding speeds with my hand controller a few times. Once it works it guides fine the rest of the night. I am go...

Re: ASIAIR GUIDE RATE

I also have another question. I have the ASIAIR send the 120mm’s guide corrections to the mount directly via the mount’s usb connection. If I were to use the 120mm’s st4 connection instead would the guide commands than be sent via the st4 cable automatically or do I need to change a setting for that...

Re: ASIAIR GUIDE RATE

Thanks,

I played with that but it still was messy unfortunately. I set it to guide speed there and it would still run way to fast during calibration. I found that if I change the guide and/or slew speed on my hand controller a few times, then it seems to work fine. Thanks for your help!

ASIAIR GUIDE RATE

Hi I am using a ASIAIR with an Astrophysics Mach 1 Mount. I run into a problem when guiding. If I start the calibration process the steps that are sent to the mount are at much higher speed than guide rate, more like slew speed. It then immediately loses the guide star. On the telescope interface, I...
