Re: Problem with ASI120MM-S camera and PHD2

Chad, I'm having the same issue. Latest drivers, applications, ASCOM, etc loaded. I've tried different USB cables, computer. Connected directly to the computer exhibits same problem. The problem is mostly repeatable, but occasionally the camera will return an image. It will show a video image. I'm ...

Re: Help 071 or 294

Hi Compared to 071, 294 has higher QE. So 294 is more sensitive, suitable for live stack. But it has more amp-glow, causing difficulty in calibrating. Also it is true that 071 is suitable for long time exposure, because it has smaller amp-glow. 294 does not have heated window, and it cannot add one,...

Re: Strange artifacts around bright star Alnitak.

Hi John, I am sorry about the problem you are going through. Re: Protect window ASI178Mc

Hi
178 is equipped with IR cut protective glass.
You do not need a separate IR cut filter.
If you add another IR filter, it is basically the same.

Re: Does using variable Offset simply buy a few more ADU headroom?

Hi Markus,
Yes, you are right.

You could also change the gain and offset in the settings If you are using ASICAP.

Re: ASI178 MC with Celestron NexStar 8 SE

Hi,
It is related with the focal length of the telescope and sensor size of the camera.
I test the configuration in the Stellarium and it shows this will only get part of the moon.

Re: Binning speed

Hi James
You can try 1600MM series.
I test it in ASICAP with RAW8, Bin2, hardware bin, highspeed mode, USB speed 100,
the frame rate can up to 47.7
