You may need to remove the center screw and fix the EAF adapter with other holes.

The extension distance of USB 3.0 can up to 2m in theory, Sorry we do not have recommended cable for you but you can try active USB extension cable.

USB 3.0 B male connector.

Please make sure the target is in the center of the FOV and then you can try shooting with longer exposure such as 180s or more until you can see the nebula.

For DSO you can try ASI533MC pro, for planetary you can use ASI120MM or if you want to buy a color version, ASI224MC will be a good chioce.
