Best IR capable camera?

Hi. If I were to use a ZWO camera for IR capture using an IR lightsource, like using it for security cam or capture night time wildlife recordings, which camera would you recommend? I would think a camera with a large mono sensor without ir-cut filter, perhaps the zwo 1600? I've looked at the relati...

Re: Cable question

I can't seem to find the right cable. It has to be a usb3 female to male, but the tablet should also be usb3-capable, right?!
What is the hardware you're using in the video?

Cable question

Hi. What are the requirements for the cabling between camera and tablet?

I've tested with my 120 mc-s, usb3 connected to a what-ever "female" usb to micro usb. But camera is not detected.

My LG tablet is supposedly OTG capable according to an app detecting that.

Re: ASICAP camera power draw

I think it should be optional, so you can turn fan on and off. And perhaps adjustable fan speed / temperature control. I'd be worried that cooling would empty the battery of a tablet or phone.

Have fun programming 8-)

Re: Sensor for near IR

Thanks, Chad. I am willing to try, though. But I think the 290 chip a bit small.

Which lens for ASI1600?

Hi.
Which Canon lens would you recommend, if I were to use the ASI1600? It would be for close-ups, like portraits.

ASICAP camera power draw

Hi. If I use ASICAP and connect to a tablet, and the camera has cooling, will the camera draw power for the cooling?

Sensor for near IR

Hi there. I'm looking into a way to do live imaging in the IR range using a dedicated astrocam. Not for astro imaging, but fit with a lens, like using a handheld camera. I'm thinking the range of about 4 min.s exposure at max. Using band pass filter I'd be imaging from 800 - 860 nm. Would the IMX174...
