Re: ASI 178MM on BeagleBone Black with Debian

Devices only appear as /dev/video... when there's a kernel-space driver for them that provides a V4L2-compliant interface. The SDK provides a driver entirely in user-space and connects directly via the USB interface rather than V4L2, so it's not a concern that there's no /dev/video device. I have a ...

Re: Pixel clock speed

I wonder if an easier solution might be to read the images into a ring buffer with a frame rate that is slightly too high, then deliver the last image stored in the buffer at the frame rate required by the projector?

Re: [SOLVED] ASI120MM Debian 9 video frame timeout

Of course just because the kernel doesn't need patching at this point doesn't mean the device will work. There may be other parts of the kernel that assume the device correctly implements the USB specification and they may break when that turns out to be untrue.

Re: [SOLVED] ASI120MM Debian 9 video frame timeout

I'm not sure there's a need to patch that particular piece of code. It appears only to emit a warning that the device doesn't meet the USB specification, not to attempt to force the packet size to a compliant length as well.

Re: SDK Version 0.6.0921

Is force_close() being called from the same thread as controls the rest of the camera communication? I'm guessing, but perhaps weird things might happen if it isn't.

Re: ASI 120 MC -- Firmware upgraded

In case it's helpful, I just had to flash my 120MC to the "compatible" firmware to get it to work on both 64-bit Linux Mint 18 and on Raspbian 9.

Somewhat late to the party on this one, but I've been doing some work that may help. By all means drop me a message if you're interested.

Re: ZWO ASO 071 with OACapture High Sierra

toothdoc,

I'm planning a new release before the new year (hopefully before Christmas if I can resolve one last little issue). I think I'd just missed this camera out in my list of "cameras the software specifically knows about", so I'll try to get that sorted as well.

Re: oacapture 1.1.0 released

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I see you're running Sierra, but is it updated to release 5 or are you using an earlier update?

Re: oacapture 1.1.0 released

I've added an issue for this here:https://github.com/openastroproject/ope ... issues/117

I'll see if I can work out what is going on. It may be something specific to the Neximage 5. I'm sure I tested the Neximage Burst. Which release(s) of OSX are you using?
