Re: Wifi Extender setup help needed

Yes, you are correctly set up. Very good. The "ASIAIR Settings" window displays your ASIAIR SSID, not the SSID of the extender. For peace of mind, you can confirm it by ejecting the ASIAIR app and launch it again. The first window that appears is a white ASIAIR connection window (with the green ENTE...

Re: Wifi Extender setup help needed

Netgear sells various "N300" extenders (travel, desktop, wall outlet). The "300" indicates the speed of the extender and the "N" indicates it supports 801.11n, which only covers the 2.4 GHz band. With an "N" extender, you will need to first go into the ASIAIR Settings window and disable the "5G WIFI...

Re: Auto Guiding

You did not mention the model of the mount that was selected in the ASIAIR Telescope Settings window. That could be your problem. If you wish to leave your mount alone and just guide through the ST-4 cable ("auto-guider cable"), you need to select "On-Camera-ST4" as your "mount." in the Telescope Se...

Re: attach accessories to ZWO-ASIAIR

Plate solve in ASIAIR uses its own database and does not require an internet connection. Indeed, the lack of an internet connection is one of the weakness when connected to the ASIAIR (at least presently). The ASIAIR acts as its own WiFi Access Point (AP) -- you need to open the ASIAIR's SSID from y...

Re: attach accessories to ZWO-ASIAIR

>> ASIAIR can do Polar accuracy similar PoleMaster? 30 arc seconds is child's play when you use SharpCap or ASIAIR. I have been able to get well within 10 arc seconds with ASIAIR. That is the number that is reported by ASIAIR -- I don't know how accurate it really is, since the accuracy depends on f...

Re: telescope mount sync from Phone - Issue?

Hi Kevin, Aha! The UI difference is because I am running v1.3 Beta on iOS. I keep a Samsung Tab A around in case I need to run apps that are only available on Android. Sure enough, like what you saw, the Lat and Long fields in the "Sync from Phone" section of ASIAIR v1.2 are not editable. I then dow...

Re: attach accessories to ZWO-ASIAIR

The PoleMaster is not supported. The polar alignment function in ASIAIR renders the PoleMaster unnecessary. Like the SharpCap polar alignment feature, the ASIAIR uses plate solving to determine the position of the mount's polar axis relative to the pole. Till today, the PoleMaster still requires the...

Re: telescope mount sync from Phone - Issue?

>> I look at the ASIair app Telescope Settings view and I see in the “Sync from Phone” section shows Lat +32.56.02 Long: +97.13.33 >> Unfortunately I can not use my new ASIair to connect to my mount until I find a way to replace or remove the incorrect Long: +97.13.33 value. On an iOS device, the Ph...

Re: asiair power supply

Jay, What are you using to connect the USB Type A from the ZWO DC-DC converter to the micro USB power connector on the ASIAIR? Make sure the microUSB end is completely seated into the Raspberry Pi power jack. You could also try a *short* USB to microUSB cable that are sold for charging phones and ta...

Re: Feature Request: Polar Alignment

From my experiments with the ASIAIR, you do not actually have to see Polaris itself to be able to use the Polar Alignment feature of ASIAIR. The RA axis will eventually need to be aligned to the north celestial pole, but the OTA itself does not have to (i.e., using a DEC that is not 90 degrees). You...
