Re: Firmware updater for other operating systems

Sorry, what do you mean about "the below zero error"? Could you explain it or take a screenshot for us? Ah sorry for the late reply. I was referring to the problems of the temperature sensor when T drops below zero. The EAF then produces a lot of error messages, which can affect reliability of the ...

Re: Firmware updater for other operating systems

Thank you.
As I meanwhile also ran into a second problem (the below zero error) I've now switched back to my Pegasus DMFC until I can somehow solve this FW update issue :(

Re: Firmware updater for other operating systems

You could try install windows virtual machine on Mac&Linux. Thanks for your feedback, and I will convey your feedback to our devs, they will consider this. As Wouter mentions, it's also a question of having a License for it. Thanks for notifying the devs - maybe they could also consider some bootab...

We are sorry about this. Our EAF firmware update only supports windows.
I know. This is why I opened the feature request.
What is technically restricting the FW update to Windows, when the unit has working support for Mac&Linux?
(for Linux, support via fwupd would really be cool...)

Firmware updater for other operating systems

I'm currently fighting with my EAF that won't react on 'reverse motion'. The issue is (likely) the firmware, my unit is still at 3.1.3. However, FW update is only supported in Windows. While I have some 30+ computers around here, we don't have any windows machines (nor licenses, FWIW). Normal serial...

Re: Using EAF with ASICAP and INDI

Just three more notes: Looking closer at that, I could see that if I disconnect the EAF in ASICAP, and then connect again, it will be in 'moving mode' (the control window for the EAF shows 'Stop' in the button, instead of 'Goto Position'). On INDI side the problem is solved now (git version) by call...

Using EAF with ASICAP and INDI

Hi, I'm playing with my new toy, the EAF, and noticed some irregularity: If I use the EAF via ASICAP, then quit ASICAP and start INDI/EKOS, it will not properly connect to the EAF. It can read some settings, but fails to set max position and (reverse) direction. Tuning the device is also not possibl...

Re: need measurements of how far down 290 mini sits in helical focuser

No, not completely. It will stop some 4mm above the base plate (so the sensor is 12.5mm above the plate). It fits perfect for my ASI1600/EFW/OAG setup, in 'default configuration' the 290 is in focus turning the helical 2.6mm out (i.e., approx. midway in its range). Yuck, sorry - I just noticed that ...

Display settings

Strange - I though I had posted this yesterday, but it doesn't show up anywhere... I wonder what other people think about the display control of ASICAP. I do find it quite non-intuitive, as (at least to me) the numbers for 'contrast' and 'brightness' don't mean anything. I for one would rather prefe...

Re: Cooling without cooler switched on

Hi Sean,

thanks for the confirmation!
I was actually not too concerned about the camera, but rather wanted to save battery in the field :D
