Re: Longitude bug ruined mount

What EQMOD cable should I be looking for? The documentation is not clear at all. Still unclear if this is hooked up correctly. I search EQMOD cable and I get many types. Connecting male and female RS233 cables together from handset to ASIAir seems nuts, but it seems to work, besides the longitude fl...

Re: Longitude bug ruined mount

I'll try to take photo/video. Happy to try and help. Mount seems fine, needed reset, slews ok now, I think. Can I just do USB on mount to USB on ASIAir? This method plus hand controller on mount is how I use EQMOD with SharpCap and planetarium software, works great.

Longitude bug ruined mount

For whatever reason this app keeps swapping E and W on my AZ-EQ5. I set everything up in the controller, 97 W, 39 N. These coordinates always load wrong in the app, so I have to press Sync to get it to see W. Negative. West of the meridian. Swapping back and forth from Skywatcher Pro, trying to get ...

1600mm-pro and 120mm-s

Having trouble getting mount set up. Skywatcher AZ-EQ5, what is the correct way to hook up with hand controller? I don't have an ASCOM cable. I have male and female RS232 cables. Female has a phone type 6 pin connection that will fit into either the mount "autoguide" port or the Synscan hand control...

Can't reach focus with 1600mm pro

Using the included spacers I am only able to reach focus when I include the 0.8X Flattener/Reducer in my imaging train. SV102T, flattener/reducer, 16.5mm spacer, 11mm spacer from camera, male to male adapter,, ZWO EFW8 and then the ASI1600. I took out the flattener and replaced that with the 21mm sp...

Re: USB2 devices plugged into 1600MM port

I use a ASI120MM plugged into my ASI1600MM-C (as well as a USB-RS232 adaptor for the mount), though my astronomy laptop only has USB2 ports. To get the two cameras working together I had to reduce both of their USB bandwidths to 40%. As with any hub, the one on the ASI1600 will only run at the lowe...

Re: M42-M48 adapter with ASI 1600

please send email to us directly if there is no such adapter where did you buy this camera? Highpoint Scientific. I sent an email to ZWO. for pics, see thread here https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/603813-these-spacers-are-supposed-to-work-somehow/ That knurled grip male to male spacer isn't in th...

M42-M48 adapter with ASI 1600

Is this adapter supposed to be included in the ASI1600 pro box? Because I don't have one and I have no way to use the 16.5mm spacer included. What I got in my box isn't what is pictured in the manual. The closest thing is the male to male knurled grip adapter that fits into the front of the EFW8. Bo...

Re: Spacers Supplied with ASI 1600 Pro

Can you elaborate on how to use these spacers? I don't see them mentioned in any documentation. Do they fit on both sides of the EFW? you don't know the final position when you screw the camera to the EFW so you can add spacer to the male M42 part of the camera to adjust the position But are the sp...

Re: Connecting ASI1600 pro to 2.5" Stellarvue flattener/redu

My coma corrector (GSO) & flattener are both M48. They should better use M48 on the filterwheel & camera. The distance can change from scope to scope. On my newton it is 55 and on my apo it is 106. I agree with you, more standards would help us all. Many of use have wrong spacers laying around :( I...
